Engineering
Forward Deployed Engineer
$200,000 – $350,000 + equity
Full-time · Los Angeles, CA — in person
You embed inside health system revenue cycle operations and ship agents against live queues. You are the person who makes a deployment real — not a demo, not a pilot deck, the actual working system.
Requirements
- ■4+ years building production software; strong across the stack — TypeScript/React, Python, APIs, data
- ■Experience integrating with messy third-party systems — EHRs, portals, legacy APIs, file and fax workflows — or clear evidence you can learn them fast
- ■Able to own a deployment alone: integration, debugging, monitoring, and the customer conversation
- ■In person in Los Angeles, CA when not embedded at customer sites; up to 50% travel to health systems
- ■Authorized to work in the United States
What you’ll do
- —Sit with revenue cycle teams and map the real workflow: the queue, the documents, the systems, the exceptions, the people who own review.
- —Ship agents against live operational queues — denials, records requests, follow-up — and own the deployment end to end: integration, evals, review gates, monitoring.
- —Work the messy middle firsthand: Epic work queues, clearinghouse feeds, payer portals, fax confirmations.
- —Turn operator corrections into playbook changes the same week, not the same quarter.
- —Be on-site when it matters. The work lives in the customer's building.
What we expect
- —Strong full-stack and systems engineering — you ship complete things, fast, without a spec.
- —High tolerance for regulated, imperfect environments. The constraint is the job, not an excuse.
- —You own outcomes, not tickets. A stalled deployment is your problem until it isn't.
- —You'd rather be embedded with a customer than in a planning meeting.
Compensation listed is base salary or on-target earnings, paired with meaningful early equity. Exceptional candidates outside these bands should apply anyway.
